Color of Canon & Fugue

An analytical study on color mixing, this collection of work exams how, by introducing one color at a time, the palette evolves.

We have quite a handful of layer blending modes in Photoshop and Illustrator to conveniently experiment with the color remix. In this work though, I intendedly avoided using the Blending Mode. Rather, I relied on my eyes to decide for each color section, in order to achieve a somewhat subjective result that's based on my personal logic and aesthetics, not the computational rules. Most of the time I followed the Optical Color Mixing Principles, but made adjustments and alternations.

As far as I love how computer has enabled us to do ever dazzling graphic works, I think it is the eyes-hands relationship that we should always be nurturing.
